What you’ll see along the way
Scopello Sea Stacks (Faraglioni)
The sea stacks and the Tonnara of Scopello are a must-see when visiting by boat. There’s plenty to do. From independent boat trips and scuba diving to simple snorkelling.
Just in front of the Tonnara, three large rock formations rise from the crystal-clear bay, covered in thick Mediterranean vegetation. Mediterranean gulls nest on the cliffs. The sea stacks have also featured in several films and commercials.
Guidaloca Bay
Another gem worth discovering is Guidaloca, known for its clear waters. The eastern part of the bay is arguably the most scenic, thanks to its rocky seabed: the sea here takes on an extraordinary blue, ideal for snorkelling lovers. The waters are usually calm, as the cove is sheltered from the wind.
La Cala Rossa
Cala Rossa is a rocky stretch of coastline with crystal-clear, turquoise water.
Located just a few hundred metres from Guidaloca beach and right after Cala Bianca, the land route is long and not ideal for small children, but by boat you’ll enjoy a dramatic, otherworldly landscape – like being on Mars, but with a sea all of your own.
La Cala Bianca
The final stop is Cala Bianca. In spring, the Mediterranean vegetation dominates in lush green, while in summer the landscape becomes almost lunar.
The cove takes its name from the white rocks that frame it, where agave and dwarf palms grow wild.
Return to the port of Castellammare del Golfo is scheduled for 13:30, but you can also book a full-day trip and continue on to San Vito Lo Capo, with time to visit the town and enjoy lunch in one of its traditional restaurants.
